Twitter (X) Date Search

"What happened on X that day?" — answered in seconds. Pick a date range on the calendar, watch the since:/until: query build itself, and launch it on X. No syntax to memorize, no UTC math to do in your head.

Dates

Enter the same date in both fields to search a single day.

Specify exact times (optional)

Words

Keywords are optional — dates alone, or dates plus an account, work fine. For exact phrases ("…"), OR groups, or excluded words, use the Twitter Advanced Search Launcher →

People

Paste a profile URL or type a handle — with or without the @. Multiple handles become an OR group. Enter your own handle to dig through your own posting history. Handles you search are remembered for one-tap reuse.

How to Search Tweets by Date (since: & until:)

The operators this form generates — learn them once, type them anywhere.

📅 Date operator reference

since:2026-01-01Posts on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD). On its own it means "from this day until now".
until:2026-06-30Posts before this date — the date itself is not included.
since:2026-01-01 until:2026-01-07Combine both for a window; this example covers Jan 1–6, 2026.
since:2026-08-10_00:00:00_JSTFull timestamp format with a time zone suffix — pins the search to an exact local time.
within_time:2dPosts from the last N minutes/hours/days: 30m, 12h, 2d.

Heads-up: use a half-width colon and no space after since: — otherwise X treats the whole thing as a plain keyword.

Time Zones: since:/until: Are UTC

Plain since:/until: dates are interpreted in UTC, not your local time. If you're at UTC+9, since:2026-08-10 actually starts at 9:00 AM your time — which is why posts from that morning seem to be "missing".

The fix is the full timestamp format with an explicit time zone. To cover all of August 2026 in Japan time, for example:

since:2026-08-01_00:00:00_JST until:2026-08-31_23:59:59_JST

Toggle Precise mode in the Dates card and this tool generates the timestamp format for you — with the To date included in full, no manual offset math.

Twitter Date Search Not Working? Try This

If your query looks right but nothing shows up, walk through these in order.

  • Switch the results tab to Latest — the default Top tab mostly hides older posts. Date searches live on the Latest tab (this tool defaults to it).
  • Update your X app — outdated app versions often show empty or broken search results. Update from the app store, or try x.com in a browser.
  • Make sure you're logged in — X search barely works logged out.
  • Check the syntax — half-width colon, no space after since:, dates in YYYY-MM-DD format.
  • Shift until: forward by one day — until: excludes its own date. Specify the next day, or use this tool's precise mode.
  • Drop retired operatorsnear:, geocode: and source: no longer work and can make the whole query fail.

Twitter Date Search — FAQ

How do I search tweets by date?

Type since:YYYY-MM-DD and until:YYYY-MM-DD into the search box, e.g. since:2026-01-01 until:2026-06-30. With this tool you just pick the dates on a calendar — the operators build themselves and launch on X in one tap.

Can I search tweets from one specific day?

Yes — enter the same date in both fields. With Precise mode on, the search covers that day from 00:00:00 to 23:59:59. Try the "Just yesterday" preset to see it in action.

Why are posts from my until: date missing?

A plain until: means "before this date" — the date itself is excluded (and interpreted in UTC). This tool's Precise mode converts the To date to until:YYYY-MM-DD_23:59:59_UTC, so the day you picked is included in full.

Are dates interpreted in my local time zone?

No — plain since:/until: dates are UTC. To pin a search to a local time, use the full timestamp format such as since:2026-08-10_00:00:00_JST. This tool generates that format automatically when Precise mode is on.

Why is Twitter date search not working at all?

First switch the results tab to Latest — the Top tab barely shows older posts. If it still fails, the usual culprits are: ① an outdated X app — old versions often show empty search results, so update from the app store or use x.com in a browser; ② being logged out — X search barely works without an account; ③ syntax slips — half-width colon, and no space between since: and the date.

I need more filters — exact match, likes, media?

For everything beyond dates, use our sister tool, the Twitter (X) Advanced Search Launcher: exact-phrase ("…") search, OR groups and excluded words, hashtags, minimum likes/reposts, and image/video/reply filters — every working X search operator in one form.

Is this tool free? Does it see my X account?

Yes, it's completely free, and it runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to any server — the tool simply builds a query string and opens x.com/search with it. Your recent launches are stored locally in your browser only.

Can I search my own posts from a specific period?

Yes — put your own handle in the From field (it becomes from:yourhandle) and pick a date range. Great for "what was I posting this time last year?" trips and digging up your old posts; add a keyword to narrow further. Note that posts from protected (private) accounts don't appear in X search results.
