Twitter Advanced Search — FAQ

How do I search tweets from a specific user?

Use the from: operator — for example from:naval finds every post written by @naval. In this tool, type the handle (or paste the profile URL) into the From field under People. Combine it with keywords, dates, or min_faves: to narrow the results.

How do I search tweets by date?

Use since:YYYY-MM-DD and until:YYYY-MM-DD to define a date window, e.g. since:2024-01-01 until:2024-06-30. Dates are interpreted in UTC. The Dates card in this tool fills them in with a date picker, plus one-click ranges like "Past week".

How do I find a tweet I only half-remember?

Put the words you remember in the exact-phrase field (they become a quoted "…" search), and add from: if you remember who posted it. Switching the results tab to Latest and adding a rough since:/until: window helps a lot.

Why don't near:, geocode: or source: work anymore?

X has retired several historical operators — near:, geocode:, source: and card_name: no longer return results. That's why this builder leaves them out and only generates operators that still work.

Is this tool free? Does it see my X account?

Yes, it's completely free, and it runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to any server — the tool simply builds a query string and opens x.com/search with it. Your recent launches are stored locally in your browser only.
