Getting started
- On x.com, hover over any profile. A small popup appears next to X's profile card — type your note, add tags, and click Save (or press Ctrl/⌘ + Enter).
- Click the XStickies icon in your toolbar to open the management page: search, edit, filter by tag, and import/export your notes.
- A 📝 marker appears next to people you've already noted, so you can spot them in your timeline.
Sync & account (optional)
- XStickies works fully without an account — your notes stay in your browser.
- To sync across devices, open the management page and Sign in with Google. Your notes are then backed up to our servers and kept in sync.
- To remove your data from our servers, use Delete account on the management page — it erases your server-side data immediately. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Troubleshooting
The note popup doesn't appear
Make sure you're on x.com and hovering long enough for X's own profile card to show — the XStickies popup attaches to that card. If you just installed or updated the extension, reload the X tab. A simple page refresh fixes most cases.
My notes didn't sync
Sync only runs when you're signed in (via the management page). Check your internet connection and that you're signed in on both devices, then open the management page or use Sync now to trigger a sync.
Backing up or moving to a new device
Open the management page and use Export to save a JSON backup, then Import it on the other device. Signed-in users sync automatically.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc). Firefox support may come in the future.
Is XStickies free?
Yes — completely free, with no subscriptions or hidden costs.
